I’m a Libertarian Because…

I’m a libertarian because I accept responsibility for my actions.  I’m a libertarian because I am responsible for everything that I do and everything that I fail to do.

I am a libertarian because I accept that the freedom to choose makes me responsible for the consequence of my actions. I’m a libertarian because no one can abdicate responsibility for their choices.

I’m a libertarian because I believe in self-ownership. I’m a libertarian because freedom and responsibility are two different words for describing aspects of self-ownership.

I’m a libertarian because my parents raised me to mind my own business.  I’m a libertarian because my parents taught me that so long as my neighbors behaved peaceful and voluntary manner, than their behavior was none of my business.

I’m a libertarian because my life is none of your business and your life is not my fault.  I’m a libertarian because my life is not your fault and your life is none of my business.

I’m a libertarian because only voluntary relationship sare moral relationships.

I’m a libertarian because I believe that right and wrong are moral absolutes and that a badge, a uniform, or a government paycheck do not sanctify immoral acts.

I’m a libertarian because I reject determinism. I’m a libertarian because I reject that the “accident” of one’s birth or social status must forever define one’s life.

I’m a libertarian because I chose to view life as the choice to best live my values, no matter the challenges.  I’m a libertarian because I refuse to view life as a tragedy that is forever beyond my choice and influence.

I’m a libertarian because bureaucracies are incapable of managing the complexity of daily life.  I’m a libertarian because no one has the right to plan another’s life without their consent.
